‘Nun. [These letters (Nun, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Qur’an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the pen and by what they (the angels) write (in the Records of men). {1}

You (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), by the Grace of your Lord, are not mad.  {2}

And Verily, for you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) will be an endless reward. {3}

And Verily, you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) are on an exalted (standard of) character. {4}

You will see, and they will see, {5}

Which of you is afflicted with madness. {6}

Verily, your Lord is the Best Knower of him who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Knower of those who are guided. {7}

[Qur’an, chapter 68: verses 1-7, English interpretation of Arabic]

In the name of Allah

Asalamu ‘alaykum

Hey awesome people! Glad to see you in our company. Continuing with our series on What’s Islam, we’re going to tell you about ALLAH.

As we mentioned previously, Islam entails submission to The One True God, Allah

ALLAH is the Supreme, uncreated Creator of all creation. He is The Lord, The Most Gracious, The All-Powerful, The Almighty.

Allah is The One, without partners, associates and children. It does not befit His Majesty to have children or be begotten or take a partner. He is the Eternal, The King of absolute sovereignty, The One Who deserves the exclusive right to be worshipped alone.

To help us understand a little better, Allah revealed some descriptions of Himself through revealed books and His prophets and messengers (peace be upon them all). However, as created beings, we are limited in our capacities and faculties and thus, we cannot fully comprehend Allah, nor can we imagine Him.

One of the best descriptions of Allah can be found in chapter 112 of the Qur’an.

(The English interpretation of the Arabic meaning ) –

‘Say (O Muhammad peace be upon him): “He is Allah, (the) One.
“Allah-us-Samad [Allah the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, (He neither eats nor drinks)].
“He begets not, nor was He begotten.
“And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.”” [QURAN 112;1-4]

Muslims are completely monotheistic, that is we attribute absolute Oneness to Allah as He deserves. IncidentallyHe does not need the creation or their worship, rather we need Allah and we need to worship Him, for indeed, this is the very purpose of life… check out the next series!

For now, stay cool and curious, see you in a bit (in sha Allah)!
